Owner

Wien Energie GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of WIENER STADTWERKE GmbH, and is therefore indirectly owned by the City of Vienna. Furthermore, Wien Energie is subject to audits performed by the Group’s Internal Audit Department, the Audit Division of the City of Vienna and by the Court of Audit.

Supervisory board

Pursuant to the criteria of Section 29 of the Austrian Companies Act (GmbH Gesetz), Wien Energie GmbH must appoint a supervisory board. The Supervisory Board of Wien Energie GmbH consists of six members elected during the General Assembly, as well as three employee representatives, which are appointed pursuant to Section 110 of the Labour Constitution Act (Arbeitsverfassungsgesetz). Four Supervisory Board meetings are held every year. In addition to these, the general management continually fulfils its obligation to provide information as stipulated in Section 28 of the Austrian Companies Act, obtaining the statutory or legally required consent of the Supervisory Board in cases where this approval is needed or for fundamental decisions.
